Is there adequate empirical support for eternal inflation?
George Efstathiou is one of the major cosmologists of the last 40 years. Recently retired from his full time research and teaching at Cambridge, this is a great talk I came across with amazing observational data support about what is known very solidly about inflation and what important questions still remain.
The crazy controversy Efstathiou mentions at the end of this talk was first presented in SciAm in 2017. It is instructive and fascinating.
Please let me know if you find any more recent and more solid info than what Efstathiou shows or that his detractors present here.
