In reply to Joe’s question about the holographic principle (HP)

 Lots of interesting stuff proposed for discussion this Tuesday or after. 

Joe asked about a Nova on holographic principle (HP). There may be one that covers some of that but I haven’t found it. Anyone else?

The most accessible and best thing I’ve ever read on HP is in this book. The top cover version is the latest edition that just has a new foreword.

Nancy has read it also and liked it. 

Read Chapters 8, 11 & 12 for intro to HP. These are really the foundation of my understanding of HP, such as it is. Fascinating and quite clear. Of course much of the rest of the book is great too.

Now it’s understood that HP is a much more general idea and not confined to physics.

Really fascinating but quite in depth. I’d recommend reading those 3 book chapters first,  then the conclusion of this paper, and then see if you can get any of the rest of it.
